Taking a little break from the pottery selling posts.  I should have something up tomorrow though.

Here are some sketches I did today in wet slip.  2010 is going to the be year I loosen up!

Love the sketches… we could all use a bit of loosening-up too.

maybe it should be everyone’s year of loosening up… and not just about pots. i think it’s on the chinese calendar… 2010 – year of the loose goose.

I definitely need to loosen up in pots and otherwise. I could use a workshop from you on the slip deco, just beautiful drawings, not sure how much more loose you could get

I’d really like to see your process in the slip drawings. how wet do you do it? I work with 2 layers of slip, so things get a bit sticky (literally). Also, what kind of tool are you using now- I’ve seen all kinds!

Great sketches. I’ll follow you on the loosening up. My necks stiff from all of this pottery stuff!

Amanda, these aren’t typical. I usually wait until everything is back to leather hard, or a bit harder then use a needle tool to do the drawing. The ones in the photos here were done very wet and I used a bamboo quill. Thanks for checking in.
